Deodorant vs. Antiperspirant: What's the Difference?
Share

Although they're often used interchangeably, deodorants and antiperspirants work in very different ways.
Antiperspirants are designed to reduce perspiration by using aluminum salts to temporarily block the sweat glands. Less sweat means less opportunity for odor to develop. These salts temporarily form gel-like plugs within the sweat ducts, reducing the amount of sweat that reaches the skin's surface. This effect is temporary, and the plugs are naturally shed as the skin renews itself.
Deodorants, on the other hand, don't stop you from sweating. Instead, they help prevent or neutralize body odor while allowing your body to perspire naturally. Sweating is one of the body's normal ways of regulating temperature, so my goal isn't to stop this natural process - it's to keep you feeling fresh and confident throughout the day.
With S E A Skin Co Deodorants, we've taken a multi-layered approach to odor protection. Ingredients like triethyl citrate help prevent odor from forming, zinc ricinoleate naturally binds odor molecules, magnesium hydroxide creates an environment less favorable to odor-causing bacteria, and arrowroot powder absorbs excess moisture to keep underarms feeling dry and comfortable.
Rather than blocking perspiration, our deodorant works in harmony with your skin, supporting its natural function while providing reliable, all-day freshness.
